As We Approach the New Year, Tenerife has a Host of Musical Events On

Music has always formed an essential part of the culture of Tenerife. The Canary Island is rooted in musical tradition, and the coming weeks are a testament to that tradition.

The Place to be For Classical Music

The new season at the Orquesta Sinfonica de Tenerife has now got in to full swing. Better known by its acronym, OST, the venue in Santa Cruz is Tenerife’s must-go spot for fans of classical music.

The current season, which will stretch well into 2012, will see a number of new concerts taking place every week. There’s an emphasis this time round on new talent and young international performers, with musicians from all around the world contributing to the programme.

From now until the end of March next year, the Canarias Folk Festival will be taking place in the municipality of Arona. The best folk bands across the Canary Islands gather for the event, which will be taking on a more festive theme in the weeks around Christmas and New Year.
